CEC Knowledge and Skills Standards

ICC8K1- Basic terminology used in assessment
ICC8K3- Screening, pre-referral, referral, and classification procedures
ICC8S5- Interpret information from formal and informal assessments
IGC8K4- Procedures for early identification of young children who may be at risk for exceptional learning needs
ICC8S2- Administer non-biased formal and informal assessments

Objectives:

1. Candidates will be able to describe the importance of progress monitoring to measuring student mastery of content material, and will provide at lease two examples of how to do this in their future classrooms.

2. Candidates will define and use the terms formative assessment, and summative assessment, explain why these assessments are important to instructional planning, and will identify at least two strategies for implementing these in a real life lesson.


3. Candidates will describe the difference between mastery measurement and curriculum based measurement, and be able to identify at least two examples of each..
